Filtering YouTube Content

Good news...there is a quick and easy way to filter YouTube videos...

We had a good deal of requests recently from parents concerned their children accidentally (or not so accidentally) come across adult material on YouTube. Luckily, there is a very quick and easy way to activate YouTube's "restricted mode" which automatically filters out adult rated material. It is not intended as a replacement for using the YouTube Kids app which has only content specifically catering for children (which may have content missing that your children want to watch - particularly educational content), rather it gives parents that peace of mind that their child is very unlikely to come across unsuitable videos. I am using the term very unlikely since the filter is not 100% reliable and is also not intended to replace parental supervision, particularly for younger children.
